Awesome rotisserie chicken, beans, and fried cheese filled plantains. Washed down with a cold Peruvian beer. Delicious. Staff here are amazing, very friendly and attentive to needs. Definitely a place to hit up if you're in the area.

The food was pretty good for the most part, the papa a la huancaina was delicious, our entrees were decent and prices were fair. If it wasn't for the service i might have given it 3 or 4 stars as the location is "suspect" and the restaurant is very dark it's not exactly inviting. The service was the deal breaker. We decided to change tables because where we were was too dark. The lady didn't even help, in fact, she was more upset that we moved because according to her there was enough light. Getting the check was a pain! Credit cards are run through her device attached to her iPhone, not a credit card machine . She kept losing internet connection and she kept saying it was my card. We spoke to her in Spanish and pointed out that the error said internet connection lost and she was not getting it. She was so uncooperative. Also beware, she adds tip on there already written in Spanish, and we were only a party of 3. It took forever to get this tab paid and she was terrible. Will def not go back here. Update- i also have multiple charges on my credit card. This lady has got to go, her customer service is the worst.

I regret going there for my bday lunch with my family.. We only had a few hours until we had to drop off my cousin that came to visit and this place wasn't worth it. I am only giving 1 stars because the waiter was friendly to us. We tried ordering chicha molada and canchita which is essential in a Peruvian restaurant and they were out. The drinks and the appetizers took forever to arrive and our main course took a long time to arrive as well.. We ordered the jalea and all the seafood as too crispy. We also ordered the causa with shrimps and the potato layer was warm.. As if they just made it, since it took so long to arrive.. The atmosphere were nice. The food was too greasy.. We ordered tacu tacu with beef, seafood rice, and lomo saltado. We ordered the check and it took 20mins for the lady to get ready. Good thing we arrived to the airport on time but this place was to work more on speed and customer service. Since the lady (the owner) who had to get the check did not understand even though I spoke her in perfect Spanish. I would never come back here. There is so much better Peruvian restaurants around Miami.

Walked in around 4:45pm on a Friday. Only one table of 4 was in. We had a large group 13 including 5 kids. Service was horrible. Drinks took 20 minutes for water, can soda and bottle beer. Food came in waves. About 45 minutes from the first plate to the last. Had to ask multiple times for more plates, more silverware and ketchup. Calamari dish was over breaded and over fried. Most other dishes were above average. The shrimp/rice was excellent. Not a single person got a second drink because we were still waiting on food. Half our table ended up leaving before the last two plates of food because of the kids being so bored after such a long meal. I would never go again unless I planned to eat alone. They advertised having WiFi but our server was never able to provide the password.

Another night in Miami and I was craving some Peruvian Ceviche. After searching my yelp, my friend remembered this little place he heard about but never went to. Hmmn, okay. There were not many pictures, but I love a good food adventure. Let's go! It was getting close to closing time, so the place was pretty empty and the service staff was very accommodating. We ordered two waters and two beers while we perused the menu. To start, we ordered the Ceviche Mixto, it's got a little of everything - which is the way we like it. At $16, it's not a cheap dish - but it's incredible and worth every dollar. Next up is the Hickory Smoked Chicken, I saw reviews about this and the sign on the door talking about the famous chicken made me want it already. This was the BEST chicken ever. You could taste that hickory smoked flavor right through, so tender the meat falls off the bone. Then we take on the Lomo Saltado. One of my favorite Peruvian dishes made of sauteed beef strips with onion and papa fritas. It was pretty good, but the chicken won. This place is not expensive and very delicious. The exterior may not be much, the location lacking - but the experience was enough to make me want to give it 5 stars. Gracias Peru Place.

The food was mediocre. I had the Loma Saltado beef. The green sauce that I usually love elsewhere, tasted a little fermented. The waitress was very nice and a lot of fun.

This is a totally small family owned restaurant, which you probably wouldn't even notice driving by or walking by, but it was recommended by our shuttle bus driver while we were staying at the Comfort Suites down the street and it was just a couple blocks down from there. So my fiance and I decided to try this place out, we always love checking out the local cuisine and don't like chains. I must say we were delightfully surprised by the food, it was delicious! I had the Lomo Saltado, which is beef, fries, onions, peppers, and rice. The sauce was flavorful and the meat was tender. My fiance had the Pesto Chicken Verde or something, I can't quite remember the name. But that was equally as delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who doesn't mind venturing off to try new foods. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because she gave us bottled water to drink which costs about 3.50 for 16 oz., We would have been fine with tap water, but it's Miami and you can expect a tourist town such as this to charge you for some extras here and there.

I was staying at the Days Inn Miami Airport North - if you didn't know, there isn't much around there. So, I hopped onto Yelp looking for something promising. This restaurant definitely came up to the top of the list. It's of average size, a little on the small size, and has a lot of character. You can tell it's a small, family-owned business. The woman serving me didn't speak English perfectly but we managed (and it lent to the authenticity). The wine was awesome, the food was even better. I had the fried rice with chicken and it was massive. I wanted to finish the meal but couldn't come even close. The crowd was varied, from a group of guys just having a few beers before heading out, to a couple having a romantic evening, to the weird girl sitting alone and reading Kindle books (that may have been me). And the price was right. Always important! It was my first time trying Peruvian food and this has definitely enticed me to try more in my hometown.

We were in town on Sept 2010 for a Bachelors party so we were searching for some Peruvian Chicken. Them Peruvians make the best roast chicken talk about fall off the bone dripping with juices everywhere. So the original place which was the popular choice was closed on a sunday at around 10pm. I understand and luckily along the road to this place we found the Peru Place Restaurant. So we walked in the lady greeted us said she would be closing in another hour. I told her don't worry we would make it worth your time. We ordered just about everything on the menu. The Chicken was smokey juicy and so flavorful. The Ceviche was huge large chunks of seafood. I apoligize i tried to take pictures before people dug in but the smell was too amazing. The food was amazing the service was amazing we did not leave till midnight. Please support good food.

This place missed the 5 star rating because they did not have their smoke-roasted rotisserie chicken. It was cooking, but not ready. I ate there around 8PM so you would think they would have one of their signature items prepared. I switched from that to a whole red snapper, which they were also out of. But, they still get 4 stars because the service was good, the food was good, and the prices are reasonable. I ate a ceviche mixto which consisted of shrimp, squid, fish and octopus. It was served with a piece of corn on the cob and a sweet potato. I also had two different Peruvian beers. Both were good but the one in the Michelob shaped bottle was maltier and more flavorful. I don't remember the names :( The chicken looked awesome and was coming out of the rotisserie as I was leaving. I would have loved to try it!

Loved the place. Staying at eb hotel near by and walked over after looking on yelp. The location is alittle rough, but easy walk. The restaurant was completely empty from the start to the end of our meal. The waitress was nice, polite and attentive. The food was good! I actually feel alittle bad and wonder how and why the restaurant is empty on a Saturday night! Good food, good service. Timely. Looking at previous reviews, I have to say I did not feel the food took long at all to arrive, drinks were refilled. Waitress spoke English, although second language, but she was easy to understand. You won't regret.

The food here is unbelievable. The location is the detriment. If you're in a nearby hotel or are a local who drives by, do yourself a favor and stop in. The ceviche is some of the best I've ever had. The wine is good. The service is attentive. Im staying at the EB hotel and walked because I know how good Peruvian food is and the reviews were enticing. Best. Decision. Ever.

Downstairs from a trashy motel, poorly lit, dank smells, and with the worst customer service (older Peruvian lady) I have ever experienced. The only reason I give it two stars is because the food was actually, just fine. They even tried to include tip (watch out for that sneaky move) on a check with only three people. Not impressed.

For years, I've lazily avoided setting up a Yelp account. But on a vacation in Miami I stumbled into this hidden gem of a Peruvian restaurant, and I think it's a crime that it hasn't received favorable review here. Peru Place is one of those neighborhood ethnic restaurants you wouldn't know was there if you were standing right in front of it. Buried in the exhaust-stained neighborhood just a bit north of the Miami airport, a few shakes too far off the beaten path, sandwiched between an out-of-business motel and a dismal Honduran karaoke bar, it's the kind of secret place you want to tell your friends about. Huge, reasonably-priced portions of delicious homemade food - they specialize in chifa - a Peruvian fusion cuisine that blends elements of Chinese cooking with traditional South American ingredients. Of particular interest is the red snapper platter - easily enough for two to share; an entire fish, brined and cooked to perfection, on a platter of fried plantains, and with a side salad. The rotisserie chicken is also out of this world, both smokey and deliciously tender. Add to that charmingly great service - they're not heavily staffed, and everything's homemade, so we had to wait a while for our food, but the waitstaff was very gracious about it, and it was well worth the wait. Other Miami visitors: please keep this place in business until the next time I can make it out here. Yum. Thank you.

I wish there was a way to give this restaurant a zero or negative star! I was so disappointed with the service...here's my story. My husband and I were traveling from Los Angeles to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We had a one day stay in Miami so I researched restaurants near our hotel on restaurants.com . I was impressed with the reviews Peru Place received on Yelp so I purchased a gift certificate. Restuarants.com offered 2 different certificates - one for $25 off a $35 purchase (valid for dinner only) and one for $10 off a $25 purchase (no restrictions on the time of day for use.) I purchased the cheaper of the two because we were planning on eating there for lunch. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed the dilapidated exterior. The restaurant is part of a rundown motel that, in my opinion, looked pretty sketchy. We entered the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere - romantic lighting, linen table cloths, full bar. It was lunch time and there was only one other couple there which surprised me. The server greeted us and took our drink orders. We were unfamiliar with Peruvian beers but ordered one of each (obviously we were there to spend some money by ordering alcoholic beverages.) We were presented with our beers (cold and delicious looking - too bad we never got to try them) and I offered the certificate to the server prior to ordering food. She informed me the certificate was valid for dinner only without even looking at it. I explained that the website offered two and this one had no time restrictions and I requested to speak with a manager. Another woman (not sure of her position) arrived at the table and immediately began arguing with us; even after telling her we were on our honeymoon and traveled all the way from Los Angeles. She insisted the WE had not read the fine print on the certificate and reiterated the servers position of it being for dinner only. My husband then read ALL the fine print at the bottom of the certificate out loud (which did not include any restrictions on when we could use it) and the woman attempted to interrupt him several times - he just kept talking. : ) After realizing the certificate did not limit when it could be used, her next excuse was that the certificate must be used to order dessert, try the appetizers or go for the grand entree (which every single restaurants.com certificate has in the lower right corner. It is not mandatory to do this...that is the way restaurants.com SUGGESTS using the certificate. She obviously did not know how the coupon worked but accused US of not reading the fine print. Finally, she informed us that because the owner of the restaurant was not present, she was not allowed to honor any coupons and give any discounts. At this point, I was extremely upset because I work in customer service and was appalled by the treatment. I had specifically purchased this certificate for this restaurant and was now being told I couldn't use it. We never got a chance to try the beer or even order the food. There was no way I was going to pay full price for a meal that should have been discounted; especially after arguing with the restaurant staff. I'm not that stupid to order food from a place after an argument and especially do not give money to a place with horrible service. I feel they should have said something like "Usually this is something we don't do but for you, we'll make an exception" - that's just good service. I think that a business should take care of its customers and would prefer to have discounted business than no business at all. How disappointing!

Super! What great flavors. Be sure to ask for the hot sauce. Ask questions if you want to learn about how the Peruvians create their unique flavors. We will be back.
